Not so long ago in a netverse connected to a computer near you, there was a storyteller named Salieri.

Salieri wrote a wonderful alternate universe for Stargate: SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, one in which Daniel Jackson had never joined the Stargate program. Instead, he slept his way through an increasingly bad-idea series of lovers, always somehow finding his way back to his old college flame, Rodney McKay. Rodney recruited his on-again, off-again lover to join the expedition to Atlantis, an expedition whose senior military officer was Colonel Jack O'Neill. Jack had suffered badly at Ba'al's hands all alone, then returned to find his son Charlie had committed suicide. Jack's brought out of semi-retirement to join Atlantis by General Carter, even though Jack is Not Okay. His second, Major John Sheppard, is an easy-going guy with few attachments who finds himself surprisingly drawn to Dr. McKay, even as Jack finds himself surprisingly interested in the innocent and yet wildly not innocent Dr. Jackson.

If AUs where everyone's gay bug you, you might not like Pegasus B.

But you'd be wrong, 'cause it is soooo good.

And then an even more marvelous thing happened: Salieri said "Take of this thing that I have made and, uh, write more of it!" And a bunch of people did.

So Pegasus B is not just an AU; it is a set of stories written by a bunch of people with no connection other than that they wanted to write some of this. Check out its LiveJournal community if you want to be plugged in when new Pegasus B goes up.

I have two extensive Pegasus B stories, "Turbulence" and "Under a Broken Moon" and a few smaller standalones; you can find them all here if you want them, but I recommend you visit the story index for Pegasus B as soon as possible to get, well, more Pegasus B. Do not be afeard of its branching storylines and alternate alternates and aliens and women and penguins. There is a Story Guide as well.

I think you might like "Turbulence" whether or not you read any other Pegasus B. "Under a Broken Moon" was my attempt at a fairly dark epic followup to another Pegasus B epic, "Dark Moon, High Tide", written by Tafkar, which was really Pegasus Ba'al. Salieri wrote a version of Pegasus B where Ba'al got to the Pegasus galaxy first, and Tafkar and Mara Celes swapped off for a while before Taf settled down into epicizing.

Go. Join in the love. Write Pegasus B. It's candy-coated crack.

Summary: A vague rewrite of Atlantis' episode 109, "Home". Are they crew home or not? Uniquely Pegasus B relationships in this one, not canon.

Knives
Date: January 16, 2005
Size: 20kb
Pairing: Daniel/Jack
Rating: PG
Warnings: Pegasus B
Summary: Aaaaaaahhhhh, Knives. One of my proudest acheivements. After waiting forever (Pegasus B readers had been waiting at least a couple of weeks!!!) a doubting Jack finally meets his match in Daniel. One of the hottest things I've ever written with no actual sex in it, if I do say so myself. I'm still heartbroken that no one ever wrote the prequel to this where Daniel stops dancing around the truth with Jack.
My OTP is pathetically obvious.

Raccoons
Date: January 18, 2005
Size: 8kb
Pairing: Daniel/Jack

Innovations
Date: January 26, 2005
Size: 20kb
Pairing: Daniel/Jack; Rodney/John
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Pegasus B
Summary: The one where I lose my mind and completely give in to the porn.

If you want to read "Turbulence" on LiveJournal, you can. For your convenience I've also got a concatenated version below. (It came in 9 parts.)

Likewise with "Under a Broken Moon" - you can read it on LiveJournal (and leave me feedback!!) But the whole thing, 335K, is also below.

Turbulence
Date: January 27, - February 1, 2005
Size: 135kb
Pairing: Daniel/Jack; Rodney/John
Rating: NC-17 (only at the end - this one is about the action, not the porn)
Warnings: Pegasus B
Summary: The Genii force a showdown with Atlantis. Atlantis fights back.
This was written all in a rush over a weekend. I was absolutely inspired by the idea of what would have happened if Jack, with all his military command experience, had been in charge when the Genii reared their nasty heads. This one also solidified a wonderful OC named Teresa Jones, a PegB original whom I continue to love to death and thank you to Cofax for inventing her. Teresa continues to pop up in other PegB stories, which tickles me to death.

Under a Broken Moon
Date: August 29, - September 8, 2005
Size: 336kb (WHY is it so LONG???)
Pairing: Rodney/Jack; Rodney/Daniel; Teyla/John (Yes, you read that right.)
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Pegasus B. Girl cooties.
Summary: A followup to Tafkar's angst-fest action picture, "Dark Moon, High Tide", in which Ba'al got to the Pegasus galaxy first - and has Teyla, John, and Daniel under his control for rather too long. Taf developed a great friendship and working rapport between Jack and Rodney, of all people. So I, in my fannish way, perverted that great relationship in this followup story. Taf asked; she got. In this one, Atlantis has to deal with the fallout of their epic battle - the whole world has post-traumatic stress disorder and it manifests in various ways.

A bit of a stunt, and yet I flatter myself that it works.

Thank you, Tafkar.

my website designer put a disclaimer here but i took it out. which doesn't mean i don't disclaim; i do. really, i do.
